EVERYONE RELATED TO YOUR ORGANIZATION HAS STORIES TO TELL ABOUT IT (GOOD ONES)

It’s not only designated advocates or spokespersons who can make a difference with their personal stories.

Everyone who is committed to your organization’s mission—leaders, board members, donors, staff and volunteers—can tap the power of their personal stories to strengthen their advocacy and help raise awareness, advance your mission or build support.

Advocacy Workshops for Organizations explore connections between individuals’ lived experiences and the work of the organization.

Workshops can be adapted to champions and ambassadors at all levels and includes:

  • tips for finding and amplifying their voices as advocates

  • interactive exercises and group discussion

  • templates for putting together advocacy talks or conversations

  • optional one-on-one coaching

Recent groups exploring their personal passions as advocates include

  • board members and executive leaders from a health organization raising the profile of their international work

  • statewide community leaders working on health equity

  • museum, art-center and library professionals lobbying for local funding

  • community advocates raising the profile of their neighborhood association

  • board members from a literacy nonprofit preparing to engage partners
